With the increasing popularity of whiskies with multiple cask finishes, we decided it was time for Wigle’s entry into the category. Met with the opportunity to purchase some Mezcal and Tequila barrels from Mexico, we began brainstorming which of our existing aged whiskies would compliment the complex flavors presented by these casks. We then tasted several of these expressions after they had the opportunity to rest in these finishing barrels and unanimously fell in love with the range and complexity present in the Mezcal barrel which housed our already-existing Sherry Rye. We experienced just the right amount of smokiness and agave character that we desired from the Mezcal finish, and felt those notes played tremendously well with the dark fruit and sweetness present in our Sherry Rye.

Mash Bill: 62% Regional Rye, 15% Regional Wheat, and 23% Malted Barley
