This year, we’ve elevated our partnership with a 5-Year-Old Pennsylvania Straight Rye, a testament to patience and craftsmanship. The spirit then rested in a Black Locust Honey Barrel, imparting subtle floral sweetness, and was then finished a second time in Brazilian Amburana Wood. This final touch adds an incredible depth of Cinnamon & Butterscotch and a complexity that perfectly complements the rich rye. It’s an exclusive, limited edition expression of Pittsburgh spirit.

Why Amburana Wood?
Amburana is a tropical hardwood tree native to South America, known as “Brazilian Oak,” that imparts a distinct flavor profile of baking spices, vanilla, cinnamon, and floral/tropical notes to spirits and other products. Primarily used in Brazil for aging cachaça, amburana is gaining popularity in the whiskey and craft beer world for its ability to quickly and intensely add unique flavor, though its strong profile requires careful use to avoid overwhelming the spirit.
