In 2018 we kicked off an exciting collaboration between Wigle Whiskey and the Punxsutawney Groundhog Club; two Pennsylvania institutions with unbridled enthusiasm for the eccentric traditions of our beloved Keystone State. To celebrate Phil, we combined our famous rye whiskey and the tradition of Pennsylvania maple syrup production to create a bold, spicy spirit complemented by a pronounced velvety, rich sweetness.
This year, we’re releasing Phil’s Shadow again, this time aged in small new charred oak barrels for 18 months then finished in maple syrup barrels for 16 months — a year longer than last year’s release. It’s got a sweet maple finish with vanilla and baking spice notes. Try it neat and in the Phil’s 5 O’Clock Shadow cocktail below in a limited edition Phil’s Shadow rocks glass!

1.5 oz Phil’s Shadow
1 oz Maple Liqueur
Combine in a mixing glass with ice, stir, and strain into a rocks glass with a big ice cube. Garnish with and orange twist and Luxardo cherry!
