Since 2011, Wigle Whiskey, Pittsburgh’s first distillery since Prohibition, has worked to restore Western Pennsylvania’s legacy as the Rye Whiskey epicenter of the country. Wigle is a community distillery which makes spirits from grain to bottle, using local, certified organic ingredients. The Distillery serves as a community educational space and a dedicated innovation space for spirits. Wigle promotes transparency in distillation, as we build our collective spirits palate and return terroir to whiskey.

Labeling and Packaging Coordinator
About The Position

We are excited to accept candidates for the role of Labeling and Packaging Coordinator at Wigle Whiskey. This is a part-time position averaging 20-25 hours a week with the potential for growth. This position will coordinate and oversee the labeling of finished products. Essential functions include, but are not limited to, labeling bottles, communicating daily with the production team about upcoming products for processing, managing label inventory, communicating with labeling staff and scheduling staff for shifts, maintaining labeling quality and efficiency, and overseeing labeling staff during group labeling shifts, often referred to as Labeling Parties (restructured to meet current COVID-19 safety protocols). This is a pivotal role in the completion and best possible presentation of our products.
Candidates should have flexible availability and expect that the working schedule might change from week to week. Consistent availability on Tuesday evenings and Sunday mornings is required.

Candidates are expected to abide by all enhanced COVID-19 Safety Protocols as outlined in Company policy and operations documents.
Duties include, but are not limited, to:
- Labeling bottles as they become available
- Daily communication with production staff
- Maintaining records of products to be labeled and what has been finished
- Monitoring inventory and Purchase Orders to prioritize labeling needs
- Communicating labeling needs with the Director of Design
- Scheduling and communication with labeling staff.
- Learning and teaching staff the correct application of each label design.
- Preparing labels
- Maintaining label inventory
- Participating in staff labeling
- Communicating finished/available products with core staff.
Physical demands include, but are not limited to, the ability to move at least 50lbs, consistent sitting or standing, and performing repetitive tasks.
