Ryes Up for a Whiskey Rebellion Festival at the Barrelhouse & Whiskey Garden! Join us for our annual summer blow-out celebration of the Whiskey Rebellion! In 1791, Alexander Hamilton established the first excise tax in American history and, of course, it was on whiskey. Our namesake Philip Wigle threw a punch that caused Pittsburghers to rise up and rebel against the federal government.
We’ve asked some of Pittsburgh’s most creative organizations to bring the spirit of the Whiskey Rebellion to life at the Barrelhouse. It’s up to you who takes the crown for best activity! This year’s participating organizations include: Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh, Carnegie Science Center, The Westmoreland Museum of American Art and Rossilynne Skena Culgan signing her book “100 Things to Do in Pittsburgh”.
Live music from AE Honick & Jordan McLaughlin from 7-9pm, delicious food from Gaucho Parrilla Argentina, summer cocktails, and plenty of activities will fill the night with fun!
$20 optional passport price includes two cocktails and all activities! Tickets will be sold at the door.
RSVP is now closed.
Please let us know if you can make it to the event.
