Come down to Wigle for a classic cold weather cocktail remedy! Just in time for the holiday season, we will continue our winter class series by perfecting the perfect hot chocolate cocktail. Using the best ingredients, proper technique, and some old school tricks that date back to the early 1900’s, you can be confident that your Hot Coco will be a definite crowd pleaser at any holiday function. 

Gingerbread Highball

1.5 oz Cinnamon Whiskey

.5 oz Brown Sugar/Spiced Simple

Pomander Orange Bitters

Gingerbread Cider

Cinnamon Stick/Orange Peel Garnish

Build drink in rocks glass, add a scoop of ice, stir, top with gingerbread cider and garnish.

Spiced Syrup-Equal parts brown sugar and water. Add  1 tsp nutmeg, cinnamon, ground clove to 1 cup of brown sugar. Add mixture to a saucepan with 1 cup of water. Bring to a boil, reduce to simmer for five minutes. Transfer to a jar and let sit overnight. Serve.

Sleigh Ride Special 

1.5 oz Bourbon

.5 oz Coffee Liquor

1.0 oz Peppermint Syrup

3-4 oz Hot Chocolate

Add syrup and spirits to mug, stir. Add hot chocolate, stir again. Top with Marshmallows and candy cane to stir. 

Peppermint Syrup-Equal parts sugar and water. Add 1 cup of sugar and 2 cap fulls of peppermint extract to a saucepan with 1 cup of water. Bring to a boil, reduce to simmer for five minutes. Transfer to a jar and let sit overnight. Serve.
